RANZCR Clinical Radiology · OSCE practice
Read the film. Answer the examiner. Then reveal.
Free, exam-style radiology stations for registrars preparing for the RANZCR Phase 2 OSCER. Every case runs like a real OSCER case: the station, a short history and the images first, then 3–5 examiner questions worth 10 marks, with marking-guide answers you reveal one at a time.
Look first
Large radiographs with a one- or two-line history. No diagnosis in the title, URL or captions. Click to enlarge, zoom or invert. Some cases release a further image part-way through, as in the exam.
Answer aloud
Questions appear one at a time, as an examiner would ask them. Commit to an answer, then reveal the marking guide: marks per point, the assessment domain, examiner notes and an annotated image.
Review
Go further with the optional teaching extension, then reveal the diagnosis, key takeaways, syllabus mapping and further reading. The timer defaults to 3 minutes, one OSCER case.
About the exam format
Under the RANZCR Phase 2 Examinations (Clinical Radiology) Policy, the OSCER has seven 25-minute stations (Abdominal; Breast; Musculoskeletal; Neuroradiology/Head and Neck; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Paediatrics; Thoracic and Cardiovascular). Each station has eight cases, and each case has three to five structured questions. The questions cover observation, interpretation, clinical judgement and management, applied sciences, and professional roles.
The cases here follow that format. Each has 3–5 core questions worth 10 marks, mapped to those domains, with marks shown only in the revealed answer (candidates don’t see them in the exam). The 3-minute timer matches one OSCER case (about 25 minutes for a station of 8). After the core block, an optional, clearly labelled teaching extension takes each case up to ten questions for tutorials and viva practice. Each case is mapped to the RANZCR Clinical Radiology Learning Outcomes (section, Appendix 1 category and Key Condition), and the library filters by the seven stations. Always check the current policy on the RANZCR website.
